THE CONCENTRATION OF HUMAN

You have correctly described the mechanical process. It is indeed necessary to gather information, acquire knowledge, apply that knowledge and experience and make a living in this two dimensional world of time and space. Most are satisfied if their creature comforts are fulfilled, the bank balance jingles and property keeps growing. Little more enterprising, one looks for fame and honour. Mosts also think that is all life is all about. Is it so? Ask a scientist and he will have a different take on the basis of his superior knowledge of things but still within the limit of his capacity of two diemensions we mentioned above. The scientist or biologists will tell you that there is much more to life that needs constant probing. They are willing to sacrifice the creature comforts to keep their probe active. Why? They find that there is a vast and bigger world influencing our activity, nay life. This is exactly what the ancient Rishis realized. They were pioneers in mastering the path that enables us to rise beyond the two diemensions and see things in true perspective without any distortion. They lived in forests with very little wants. Most of their definitions in this regard are what modern scientists are unveiling now. In the process the Rishis also realized that there is a capacity superior to concentration, which is necessary to reach higher layers of existence, which is all the while in tune with the highest Unitary Principle.
